A ST BRIGID's school pupil has sacrificed nine inches of hair to support victims of Covid-19.

Sophia Milne, aged 10, has banded together with her brother Sebastien Marshall to raise more than £1,000 for the UK PayPal COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The fund funnels donations to multiple charities - including the British Red Cross, MacMillan Cancer Support and Unicef. the pair - and the pair will also donate 19 inches of hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have undergone chemotherapy.

Anna Prince, Sebastien and Sophia’s mother, said: “It was both of their idea and I cut their hair. Seb cut off 10 inches and Sophia cut of nine inches

“Seb was eager to shave his head, while Sophia was apprehensive at first - but wanted to do a good deed and donate her hair to other children that might need a wig.

“However, after watching her brother have his hair off she was determined to do the same and they both love their new look.”

At the outset of the pandemic, Sebastien was forced to return to his Prestatyn home from his job as a ski instructor at the Whistler resort in British Columbia to help his mum, a who is a radiographer at Glan Clwyd Hospital, look after his sister.
