Hundreds of people braved the wet weather to say goodbye to one of Marlow’s favourite residents.
Pat Spink, who lived in the town for 62 years, died on May 29 at the age of 89 following a short battle with cancer.
Her death was met with sadness and shock with the loveable resident being known for helping those in Marlow and beyond.

And on Friday, June 19, hundreds lined-up the Henley Road to give Pat one final goodbye.

Those who attended lined-up the street to applaud Mrs Spink, as the hearse took Pat from her family home to a nearby church so the funeral could take place.
Her funeral was only attended by family members and close friends due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

One of Pat’s daughters, Lizzie Gloyens, said: “It turned out to be a very wet day but, in spite of the weather, there was still well over a hundred people lining the Henley Road to applaud our dear mum and wave a final goodbye.

“It was certainly emotional for the family but we really appreciated the effort made by all her friends and neighbours who weren’t able to attend the funeral because of restrictions.”
It also confirmed that at some point next year, a celebration of life will take place at Marlow Church in memory of Mrs Spink.
She leaves behind four children and 10 grandchildren.
