VAN and caravan owners in Denbighshire are being made aware of the simple steps which can be taken to reduce their chances of becoming a victim of crime.
The advice comes after reports of several incidents of suspicious vehicles travelling around the Ruthin area, and people making enquiries whether vehicles and caravans are for sale.
Police say a car like the one pictured below, containing three males (one with an Irish accent), has been knocking on people's doors asking if they have caravans for sale.
Insp Andy Kirkham said: “We are advising everyone to take quick and easy steps to ensure their property is secure and want to remind people of the importance of using highly visible security methods such as wheel locks on trailers and caravans and steering wheel locks or additional deadlocks on van doors.”
Anyone with information relating to any suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101.Alternatively contact the control room direct via the live webchat www.north-wales.police.uk/contact/live-chat-support or call 0800 555111.
