Visitors are being urged to plan ahead and tread lightly if they are visiting Denbighshire beauty spots.

Denbighshire County Council has opened its main outdoor sites across the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB in line with Welsh Government advice.

Along with other beauty spots in Wales, Moel Famau and Loggerheads and the Horseshoe Falls, Llangollen, are now open for the first time since March.

Cllr Tony Thomas, Denbighshire’s Lead Member for Housing and Communities, said: “We are really pleased to be able to welcome people back to some of the most beautiful areas of the county. Coronavirus is still with us and we are urging people to behave responsibly and be considerate of other visitors and our local communities. Some sites can get really busy so try and avoid busy areas or peak times and always park responsibly in designated parking areas only.

“Our main priority is to ensure that everyone can enjoy these areas safely while protecting and safeguarding the natural beauty and wildlife of the AONB.

“However not all facilities and businesses are open yet so it is worth checking with businesses or on the AONB website before setting out in order to avoid disappointment and frustration.”

The landscape and wildlife of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB has enjoyed a period of rest and recovery over the last few months and visitors are being asked to help it continue to thrive by treading lightly and reducing their impact by sticking to paths and trails, keeping dogs under close control and taking all litter home.
