This week hundreds of thousands of people would have made their way to Llanelwedd for the 101st Royal Welsh Show.

But, sadly, the pinnacle event of the Welsh agricultural calendar was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Instead, a virtual Royal Welsh Show is being held with various events including an opening ceremony with the Prince of Wales, a discussion about farming with the First Minister, and even a virtual tour of world record-breaking giant vegetables. There are also several television programmes throughout the week showing highlights of Wales’ favourite show.

The County Times has reported from the showground for decades and over the years our photographers have captured the buzz of the show. Take a look at the gallery of Royal Welsh Shows from recent years, and you may even spot a familiar face or two.

Tell us what makes the Royal Welsh Show special to you by sending us your photos and memories to news@countytimes.co.uk or to our Facebook and Twitter pages.
