AN INQUEST has opened into a Wrexham man found dead by police who were conducting door-to-door enquiries.
Lee Gallagher, 46, was found dead at his house on Maes Hyfryd in the New Rhosrobin area of Wrexham on July 15.
At a brief hearing held in Ruthin opening an inquest into Mr Gallagher's death, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said police had been conducting house-to-house enquiries about the theft of car in the area when they found Mr Gallagher's house to be insecure.
Upon entering his house officers found Mr Gallagher's body on the floor of the living room area.
A subsequent Home Office post mortem was undertaken by Dr Brian Rodgers who took samples for the purpose of toxicology and further investigation.
Mr Gittins said that Mr Gallagher, who was unemployed, was believed to have been an alcohol and drug abuser for a "number of years", and was on a methadone prescription.
A full inquest will be held at a date to be fixed.
