UNDERFIRE Flintshire MP Rob Roberts has deactivated his social media accounts.

The Conservative MP is at the centre of a parliamentary investigation into his conduct in relation to text messages he allegedly sent to a young female intern.

The Tory Party, which described his behaviour as "completely unacceptable", confirmed on Tuesday an investigation is under way, and that Mr Roberts had apologised and is undergoing training in social media.

And now Mr Roberts, 40, has deactivated both his parliamentary Twitter and Facebook accounts.

First elected to Parliament in 2019, the MP recently split from his wife and publicly came out as gay with a statement on Twitter in May.
