A WREXHAM man spoke of his delight after helping to save a baby hedgehog.
Colin Roberts, of Llay, was about to drive his wife Remy to work at Wrexham Maelor Hospital on Saturday morning.
As they left the house, around 7.30am, they spotted something on their path.
Mr Roberts, 49, said: "I just saw this baby hedgehog lying there - he only looked a few weeks old. "I wasn't sure he was alive at first because it was freezing cold and there was no sign of his mother.
"Then I saw he was breathing, so we couldn't just leave him there.
"I put him in a shoebox with a t-shirt around him to keep him warm and I took him to Daleside Vets in Rhosrobin.
"They said they'd try and put some fluids in him and get in touch with a hedgehog rescue centre. "Later on the got back in touch and sent me a picture - they'd nursed him back to health and given him fluids and some food.
"They named him 'Spike' and they said he's gone to Stapley Grange Wildlife Centre. "We were very happy that we were able to save him."
