TWO people have been flown to Stoke Hospital following collisions this afternoon.

North Wales Police confirmed at 1.10pm on Saturday that the A548 between Moelfre and Llanfair Talhaiarn "will be closed for the time due to a road traffic collision."

Minutes later the force confirmed the B5381 between St Asaph and Trefnant had also been closed due to a collision.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service attended the B5381 (Lower Denbigh Road) incident, which a spokesman said had involved a vehicle collding with a tree.

Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to release a female from a vehicle.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed emergency ambulances attended both scenes, as did the Welsh Air Ambulance.

In both cases, a patient was conveyed by air ambulance to Royal Stoke Hospital.

Police confirmed at 4.35pm that the A548 between Moelfre and Llanfair Talhaiarn had reopened.
