Clwyd West MS Darren Millar has welcomed news that gas network Wales & West Utilities are exploring connecting Llanfair DC to mains gas and is urging residents to register their interest by responding to the form they have been sent.

In recent months Wales & West Utilities have been carrying out works to lay new gas pipes into Llanfair Dyffryn Clwyd. Now this work is complete, there is an opportunity for homes in the village to connect to this new extension of the gas network.

Mr Millar said: “It is great news that villagers in Llanfair DC are being given the opportunity to connect to mains gas.

“Due to the way Wales and West Utilities are funded, to start planning to extend the gas network they have to make sure that a high proportion of the local community is interested in connecting, so they are urging local people to register their interest using the forms they have sent them.

“It is important that residents respond and let Wales and West Utilities know their thoughts about this.

“Prompt replies will help Wales and West Utilities determine the level of interest, which is vital as there must be a minimum number of properties interested in a connection before they can proceed.”
