A LOCAL dog walking business has removed all signage from its work vehicle amid concerns about dog thieves operating in north east Wales.

Pet Services, in Rhewl, near Ruthin, has announced the steps, including no longer sharing social media posts about the animal in its care, "for the safety and security of all the animals" in its care.

It comes as local concerns grow amid suspicious vehicle sightings and reports of attempted dog thefts.

A spokesperson took to social media to say: "For the safety and security of all the animals in my care and the recent spate of dog thefts and suspicious sightings of vehicles in the areas with immediate effect all signs will be removed from my work vehicle and unfortunately I shall no longer be sharing publicly posts of the animals in my care until it is safe to do so.

"Thank you for your understanding and please be vigilant."
