AN APPEAL for information has been made in relation to a livestock attack in Bala.
North Wales Police's Rural Crime Team have issued the appeal for information after sheep were attacked by a dog in the area between August 28 and 29.
A spokesperson said: "As you can imagine the owner is distraught and we urge anybody who saw a dog chasing sheep has any information to come forward".
Attacks on livestock are a common occurrence in North Wales, but statistics showed that last year's figures in Denbighshire were down on the year before.
In 2019, 12 attacks were reported in the county. In 2018, there were 31 incidents and in 2017,18.
The number of dog attacks on livestock overall in 2019 - across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham - fell to 49 reported instances.
This is a huge decrease compared to the previous two years; in 2018 there were 129 reported and in 2017.
2020 figures have not yet been revealed, but dog owners are being warned to keep their animals on leads to reduce the risk of such incidents from occurring.
