THE Denbighshire High School which a teenager who died days after a crash on the A55 had attended has paid tribute to him, remembering him for the 'determined and gifted' boy he was.
Ethan Ross was airlifted to hospital having sustained life-threatening injuries on Saturday, September 12, following a collision involving a Vauxhall Astra on the expressway near Bodelwyddan.
The 17-year-old from St Asaph died just two days later.
His football club, Denbigh Town, of which he was part of the Development squad, paid tribute to him earlier this week, calling him a 'popular lad'.
Now, the latest tribute to Ethan comes from the headteacher of his school, Denbigh High, Dr Paul Evans.
He said: "The whole school community has been stunned by Ethan’s death.
"He was very popular and personable character who got on well with everyone and he was known by his teachers and peers for his exemplary manners and behaviour. He was the first to offer a helping hand and put everybody else's needs before his own.
"Ethan achieved academic success through focus, determination and hard work. He had a bright future ahead of him and had high aspirations to attend university. He was a gifted mathematician with a real passion for physics.
“He will be sorely missed and our thoughts are with Ethan’s family and friends at this very difficult time”.
