A DENBIGH pub has at 'disgraceful' speculation it has closed down due to Coronavirus.
The Masons Arms, situated on Rhyl Road, has responded to rumours alleging that cases of the virus have broken out on site.
It follows another claim just two weeks earlier, which suggested that someone had been stabbed at the pub - this is also disputed.
The Masons Arms, which recently re-opened, posted the following statement on September 25: "In response to our customers concerns about the Masons Arms, it appears that we have another rumour fabricated by a person who seems to have a grudge.
"As if it was not bad enough for someone to circulate on social media a couple of weeks ago that there had been a stabbing in the Masons Arms, it now appears that someone has stooped to the lowest level, during these horrible times, to fabricate a rumour that the Masons Arms is closed because someone has tested positive to Covid-19. "PLEASE NOTE, both rumours are totally untrue and its upsetting for the staff.
"For someone to try and destroy a business in these very tricky times is disgraceful."
The pub, open every day until 10pm, is now urging anyone with information on the person/persons responsible for starting these false rumours to message the privately, so the matter can be passed on to North Wales Police.
