CORONAVIRUS cases right across the UK continues to rise as warnings are made over a 'potentially difficult winter'.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson recently announced a new three-tier system for England and local restrictions but Welsh Government said they needed more clarity before implementing similar.
The UK death toll now stands at 57,347 where COVID-19 is on the death certificate and there have been a total of 617,688 lab-confirmed cases as of October 12.
Health Minister Vaughan Gething previously said that it was evident the 'virus was waking up for winter' and that we all must 'play our part in keeping Wales safe'.
At a recent press conference he added that the 'virus does not get tired' and the country faces a 'difficult winter'.
Local areas across Wales also face tighter restrictions in a bid to curb the spread of the virus.
The Health Minister said that discussions were ongoing and a second national lockdown would not be ruled out.
