A MASK has arrived yet again on the statue of Victorian explorer HM Stanley in Denbigh.
A Free Press reader told the paper the medical mask was place on the statue sometime between Wednesday morning (October 14) and Saturday, October 17.
It is understood the face covering has been on several times since March.
The act is believed to be a reminder - once again - to the people of Denbigh to wear masks.
Earlier this year, town councillors voted by a margin of one to reprieve a statue of the controversial explorer.
Denbigh town councillors felt the need to discuss the future of the bronze cast of Henry Morton Stanley, who was born in the town, after Black Lives Matters demonstrations across the world forced a re-evaluation of all so-called colonial figures.
A working group has been created with five town councillors and plans have been made to hold a public consultation on the future of the statue in June 2021.
This date is subject to change.
Denbigh Town Council did not wish to comment on the medical mask and the statue.
