A MAN who was caught with thousands of pounds worth of drugs in Wrexham has been jailed.

Adam Fradj, of Belvoir Drive in Leicester, appeared before Mold Crown Court for sentencing on Thursday.

On previous occasions before the court the 21-year-old admitted having possessed cocaine and ketamine with intent to supply, as well as possessing MDMA in May last year.

He’d also previously admitted having possessed a bladed article in Wrexham.

Karl Scholz, prosecuting, told the court that in respect of the drugs offences, Fradj had been seen on CCTV cameras appearing to meet a male and acting suspiciously near trees in the vicinity of the Albion Hotel in Wrexham.

He was detained and taken to Llay Police Station to be searched.

Upon removing his underwear a large plastic bag fell to the floor and he told officers “that’s all for me, that.”

Inside were 26 sealed bags of cocaine and 16 of ketamine. He was also found to be in possession of MDMA and mobile phones which showed activity suggestive of drug sales.

Police searched his home, then in Empress Road, where they found more drugs, cash and scales.

Altogether, just over £700 was seized and the total value of the drugs recovered were estimated to be between around £2666 and £6700.

Then in January this year, he was stopped by police as he walked along a road in Pentre Bychan.

He ran from the officer, dropping a lock knife which he later claimed he used for fishing.

Paul Smith, defending, said: “He has had a troubled background and a pivotal moment was the death of his mother.

“That time is clearly the point at which his offending began, at 13.

“Since these offences he has moved back to Leicester and has been rebuilding his relationship with his father and brother.”

Judge Rhys Rowlands jailed Fradj for a total of three-and-a-half-years, telling him: “You were plainly dealing for gain.”
