MOTORISTS are being advised to plan their route near Llangollen after a busy road has shut for three weeks as part of major roadworks.
Denbighshire County Council said the A542 at the Horseshoe Pass will be closed while the work is carried out from Monday, October 26
The council said the stretch of road, from the quarry to the lay-by near the summit of the Pass, will be opened “whenever possible” at weekend times.
Diversions and signposts have been put in place and will be changed accordingly.
Cllr Brian Jones, cabinet member for transport, said: “We have previously undertaken some works along the Pass to carry out some drainage works ahead of the main surfacing project.
“This work due to be carried out over the next few weeks is essential, as it will provide some quality improvement to the road surface.
“We will try and minimise the disruption and we would like to thank motorists in advance for their co-operation and understanding.”
