THE mayor of Rhuddlan paid a quick visit to a newly opened business.
This was ahead of the firebreak in Wales.
Cllr Arwel Roberts and his wife Awen, mayoress, paused in the doorway for a quick photo with owners of Green Island Bistro.
They then went inside to sample the vegan menu.
Cllr Roberts said: "It was so good to see that a new business had opened in our High Street. The offer of a vegan menu adds a further attraction to a High Street that offers a range of interesting shops for residents and visitors.
"Small businesses like the bistro and the other shops are so important for the economic life of the small towns and communities in Wales.
"We had an excellent lunch and we wish the bistro all success for the future."
The bistro is named after the Mauritian cocktail and a nod to the greener lifestyle of veganism.
