THE MS for Clwyd West has praised the veterans’ initiative that helps former armed service personnel to find jobs in government following their period of service.
Darren Millar, who chairs the cross-party group for the armed forces and cadets, said the Great Place to Work for Veterans scheme, which encourages veterans to join the civil service, will boost the employment prospects of those who return to civilian life.
The UK Government scheme has been rolled out in North Wales after the Welsh Government signed up to it last week.
“This is a fantastic initiative and I am delighted that the Welsh Government has decided to join it,” said Mr Millar.
“Many veterans already work in the public sector and contribute a huge amount to the organisation; this initiative will encourage veterans to take this step.”
