DENBIGH Town Council has installed new Christmas lights on one of its streets in attempts to put some smiles back on the faces of residents following a tough year.

In a year overshadowed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the town’s annual Christmas Lights Switch on event, organised by Denbigh Events Group, will not be going ahead.

But, the Town Council has decided to put up new lights on Vale Street and arranged for two Christmas trees to be placed at the town’s roundabouts.

The lights will be switched on during the day on Friday, November 27 and remain on until early January.

A spokesperson for Denbigh Town Council said: "The Tree at Crown Square is also going to be in situ, this is under the management of the Denbigh Events Group.

"We as a Town Council very much hope that the residents of Denbigh enjoy the festive lighting this year. Stay well and stay safe."
