WREXHAM residents are being urged to stay vigilant when keeping their homes safe this winter.
North Wales Police took to social media earlier today (November 23), to inform residents of the simple steps that they can take to deter burglars from targeting their properties.
They posted: "Every evening our officers are out on patrol to prevent burglaries and help raise awareness by leaving leaflets at properties in darkness.
"If we have noticed you're not in - burglars will too.
"Rhosddu and Acton policing team have seen some fantastic Christmas lights on houses already this year, but we just wanted to remind residents not to feed extension leads through open windows.
"It makes it easy for people to come along and spoil your Christmas celebrations.
"We're here for you and to help keep you safe."
