TWO more schools have been affected by positive Covid-19 cases over the weekend, Denbighshire County Council has confirmed.

A total of 55 pupils and five members of staff at Rhos Street School, Ruthin, will be required to self-isolate until December 9 following a confirmed Covid 19 case associated with the school.

A further six pupils at Ysgol Plas Cefndy, Rhyl, will be required to self-isolate until December 7 following a confirmed Covid 19 case associated with the school.

The schools remain open and are working closely with Public Health Wales, the Local Authority and NHS Wales Test, Trace and Protect to ensure that all the appropriate measures are in place to protect students, staff and the wider community.

All parents and carers have been informed and both the Local Authority and the schools have consulted with Public Health Wales.

Those advised to self-isolated should book a coronavirus test if they develop any of these symptoms, even if they are mild. A test can be booked by phoning 119 or online.

Advice requires those self-isolating to stay at home, not to go outdoors to exercise, to visit shops, family or friends, or to other public spaces. Please do not invite people to your house.
