THE Christmas spirit is still very much alive in Ruthin this December - with Santa set to visit in the coming weeks.
Organised by Ruthin Forward, Santa's Grotto will be set up at the Old Courthouse (the old Natwest Bank) and open to the public between 11am and 3pm on December 12, 13 19 and 20.
A spokesperson for the organisers said: "2020 has certainly been a different year and for many, so difficult with the various restrictions in place, especially at this time of year.
"To have a festive focus, residents are invited to be involved in a community seasonal project that would have the aim to be inclusive of all members of our society.
"Everyone can get involved and contribute to the event by creating a snowflake beforehand, which will be placed suspended from the ceiling. spread the word so that as many people in the local community as possible can get to know about this."
Snowflakes will be required by December 4 and should be dropped off at Candy Shack.
The event is free but is restricted to one ticket per family visiting. Due to COVID restrictions, oragnisers are limiting families to a maximum of five every half hour, and all restrictions will be followed.
The spokesperson added: "Ruthin Forward would like to thank all those who have very generously donated money and sweets for the event."
