A TALENTED teenage author says he is 'thrilled' that people worldwide are able to read his novels, just as his fourth one is released.

At the age of just 15 years old, Oliver Lewis has released the final novel of his gripping sci-fi horror trilogy 'Bloodcross', the title of which is: Venturous.

Oliver, a Year 11 pupil at Denbigh's Myddleton College, released another book; Trapdoor, the sequel to his first nook which gave the trilogy its name; Bloodcross, in March of this year.

He has also previously written a book called Balance - a non-fiction guide to getting organised for teenagers.

The whole trilogy was recently spotted by edtech provider Renaissance on social media, who then decided to publish the novels on their platform and make them accessible to pupils worldwide.

Education specialists at Renaissance have also designed a quiz around Oliver’s book so pupils can test their comprehension and skills.

This means Oliver has become the first pupil in the UK to be able to read and quiz his own book on the Accelerated Reader platform.

When asked about his success as a writer, Oliver, who also designs the covers of his books, said: “I’m so thrilled that Bloodcross is now available to read by students across the country, and the world.

"I’ve been using Accelerated Reader to improve my reading and comprehension skills since Year 7 so it’s amazing to think my book now sits within an online collection that’s supporting other students with their education.”

The final book in Oliver’s trilogy, Venturous, is out now and is the last in the main trilogy. But, it doesn’t signal the end of Oliver’s writing career as he reveals he has another book 'The Handpicked Death Of A Voice At Dusk' - set to come out before the end of 2020.

Oliver said: “I want to make horror as a genre more accessible to people of my age, so I’ve used the lockdown period to finish my collection of short stories. Without giving too much away, this collection follows the two main characters of the trilogy covering their life after Bloodcross.”

Oliver’s dad Wayne said: “We’re so proud of Oliver’s achievements, he has always dabbled in writing but over the last few years his reading and writing has improved significantly and now he has a real niche in creating quality horror and sci-fi stories.”

Head of English, Mr Biles-Liddell at Myddelton College said: “Oliver has always been an avid reader, but he kept his talent for writing a secret at the beginning! All the teaching staff at Myddelton are really impressed by what he has achieved as are his fellow pupils. We’re all looking forward to reading his next book in the series."
