IT'S the shop which has brought high end clothing brands, some pre-owned by Cherries players and their families, to Bournemouth in 2020.

Browns of Bournemouth, at 100 Old Christchurch Road, stocks new and vintage designer brands at a fraction of retail price.

Footballers and their wives are among those who have added items from their wardrobes to a unique and eclectic curation of new and pre-loved fashion brands.

Owner Richard Brown has always loved fashion and has fulfilled a long-held dream in opening the shop following the first lockdown.

He told the Echo: "I have loved clothes all my life ,buying vintage from Richmond Classics. In recent years, I began buying from my close friend Barry Gallagher who owns a boutique clothes shop. Through friendship with him and meditation sessions during lockdown, I had the inspiration to open my own shop and fulfill a childhood dream.

"I had taken on a lease against most people’s advice, I wanted to try to give people something positive to enjoy and show people that the town centre is not dead, people just need to get creative and give things their best go.

"Obviously in these unsettled times there are risks to even the most established businesses, but I’m hoping we can bring a much-needed sense of fun and mystery. People can discover some of the gems we hand pick for our store. This can often be repeated due to the nature of our shop, you never know what you will find from week to week!"

Browns of Bournemouth supply brands including Supreme, Palace, Gucci, Moncler, Prada and others shoppers would normally have to travel to London for.

The ground floor of the boutique focuses on street wear and an impressive array of trainers, while the first floor is all about the luxury brands and has a laid back yet opulent feel.

Despite major concerns for the retail industry in the wake of the Covid pandemic, Richard feels positive going into 2021.

He added: "Although we are worried about another lockdown and slow growth, we go into next year full of enthusiasm and excitement to get in new and different stock and to really grow our online shop and social media. I think people in Bournemouth will come back strong next year and I hope the vibrant nightlife, restaurants and clubs will be back, stronger than ever. We hope to provide people with individual beautiful garments to make them feel a million dollars, providing customers with a bespoke, attentive and exciting shopping experience."
