IT'S jewellery that will last a lifetime.

Rebecca Oxenham has used the madness of 2020 to launch her own small sustainable business from her garden studio in Southampton.

As well as nature inspired jewellery made from recycled silver, she also offers eco-friendly silver jewellery making workshops and silver jewellery making kits.

Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery was born in March, just as the pandemic was starting to hit.

“I was made redundant at the start of the lockdown, so I used this opportunity to turn my hobby into a business.” said Rebecca.

“I also run beginners jewellery making workshops and when these came to a halt with the pandemic setting in I really wanted to continue to share my passion with others and provide an accessible way for complete beginners to make their own bespoke, eco-friendly jewellery of their own, even during a lockdown so I designed a beautiful little letterbox sized kit."

With her brand inspired by nature, Rebecca is careful to protect the environment. She uses recycled silver and gold and ethical gemstones, which are then presented and delivered in eco-friendly packaging. The business is also a partner of One Tree Planted, who plant a tree for every sale.

"The jewellery is made using a mix of contemporary and traditional silversmith techniques, recycled precious metals, ethically sourced gemstones and is designed to last a lifetime. This is in contrast to jewellery that relies on cheap labour and harmful metal mining methods where surface soil is often removed, and chemicals used. This causes a negative impact on the area’s biodiversity. There is too much cheap, imported jewellery available that is made using non precious metals, often badly made, worn only a few times and then thrown away!

"My jewellery is inspired by my passion for nature and I am committed to protecting biodiversity and protecting the environment," Rebecca adds.

The popular jewellery kits include everything you need to design and make from start to finish your own bespoke and eco-friendly fine silver earrings or pendant from start to finish using silver clay in one beautiful little box that fits through your letterbox.

"Making eco-friendly solid silver jewellery in your PJs, from the comfort of your own home or even during a pandemic has suddenly become possible," she laughs.
