BAG a bargain at a new online charity shop launched by Wessex Cancer Trust.

Even if the High Street shops are not currently open, you can still get your charity shop fix and bag some pre-loved gems in the process.

The brand new, easy-to-use online shop is called Thriftify.

The cancer support charity’s shops in Chandler’s Ford, Hythe, Winchester, Isle of Wight and Portchester raise thousands of pounds every year for local families living with cancer and are chock full of quality pre-loved bargains like designer clothes, jewellery and household items.

The online shop will complement the five shops, connecting the charity with like-minded buyers who want to buy ethically and sustainably, as well as knowing their money is going to a great cause.

Wessex Cancer Trust’s Retail Manager Mark Ellis told the Daily Echo: “The quality of donations we receive is incredible, yet you wouldn’t necessarily know what gems are in our shops unless you went and had a good look around, so being able to use Thriftify is really exciting because you can browse at the click of a button from your mobile phone or computer.

"It also enables us to make our stock more visible, so we really hope it will increase the profit we make from our retail operation and help even more local families living with cancer. But our shops aren’t going anywhere - we know that part of the appeal is being able to visit and hunt for bargains, but Thriftify enables us to add to the shopping experience.”

Wessex Cancer Trust’s online shop currently features almost 100 items including a Tag Heuer watch, Per Una lace dress and Hobbs coat.

The charity helps and supports anyone affected by cancer regardless of age, gender or type of cancer.
