A BALA-BASED construction company is set to create up to 50 new jobs and a further 10 apprenticeship opportunities in the region at its new site.

Established in 2003, Williams Homes is a family-run business specialising in the construction of innovative low carbon timber frame homes throughout North and Mid Wales.

The company has its own joinery workshop producing timber frames, doors and windows.

And now, Williams Homes is set to add a new low carbon housing production facility in Conwy County to its fleet in the coming months.

It will offer up to 50 new jobs, as well as a new 'Apprentice Academy' offering a further 10 opportunities.

Owain Williams, Joint MD, Williams Homes (Bala) Ltd, said: “We will be launching our new 40,000 square foot low carbon housing production facility in the coming months in the A55 corridor area. This will provide up to 50 new skilled job opportunities.

"The facility will also house our new Apprentice Academy, creating up to an additional 10 apprenticeship opportunities. The facility will provide a controlled learning environment which provides the best possible conditions for learning new and developing existing skills.

"We want to build on the huge success we’ve already seen through apprenticeships by upskilling our workforce and helping to future-proof our business by creating a pipeline of skilled and experienced tradespeople."
