BALA Lake Railway officials say they hope to re-open to members of the public at the end of March.

In a statement published on social media, BLR say they hope to start running trains for its passengers again as of Saturday, March 27 - 'all being well'.

The railway spokesperson added that they will however be unable to run trains they had planned for the February half-term holidays.

The statement read: "Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions that are in place we have decided that we will be unable to run the trains that were planned for the February half-term holidays.

"All being well we are planning to reopen for passengers on Saturday, March 27 this year.

"We have just published our 2021 timetable and list of planned special events on our website. Some of our planned running dates and events may well change due to the Covid-19 pandemic so keep checking our website for updates.
