THE A5 has re-opened after it had to be shut in both directions this morning following a crash.

North Wales Police had warned drivers of 'extremely precarious' road conditions with the road shut between Llangollen and Glyndyfrdwy.

Conditions are also said to be bad on the A494 between Corwen and Ruthin.

A statement from North Wales Police read: "Please be aware, road conditions are extremely precarious across the force this morning.

"The A494 between Corwen and Ruthin are particularly bad and the A5 in Glyndyfrdwy will be closed for the time."

Traffic Wales confirmed there had been a 'collision' at the site and added that emergency services were at the scene of the A5 crash.

A spokesperson fro Denbighshire County Council confirmed that gritting took place last night and 'further actions' are planned for lunchtime today and again overnight."

The A5 re-opened as of 10.45am this morning and nobody is believed to have been hurt during the incident.
