A WREXHAM man has received a life sentence for murdering his fiancee.
Madog Rowlands was unanimously convicted at Newport Crown Court in December.
The 23-year-old, of Coed Efa in New Broughton, Wrexham, had denied murdering 21-year-old Lauren Griffiths, from Oswestry.
Appearing at Cardiff Crown Court for sentencing this afternoon, Judge Daniel Williams told him: "The only sentence is one of imprisonment for life.
"The minimum term you will have to serve in custody before you can apply to the parole board is 18 years."
He has already served 485 days in custody, which will be deducted.
