ON Good Friday it's a tradition to eat fish - and, as such, we asked our readers to pick their favourite place to grab a chippy takeaway from over Easter weekend!

According to Christianity, Jesus sacrificed his flesh on Good Friday and this is why people traditionally abstain from 'meaty flesh'.

Fish, however, is thought of differently as it comes from the sea.

However, fish may not be the go-to for some, with hot cross buns also being a traditional food due to the pastry cross.

Some Christians also fast for the day as a reminder of the sacrifice Jesus made.

Dozens responded to our call on Facebook for their favourite place to grab a takeaway treat over Easter – and the clear winner was Kelly's Chippy in Llangollen, with several people commenting on how 'amazing' it is.

One user wrote: "Not only are they first rate every time, the portions are also excellent value for money, they are very well thought of in Llan."

Other votes coming in were for the likes of Trefnant chippy, Les and Rita's (Rhyl), Finn's (Ruthin) and The Chippery (St Asaph) among others.
