THE date when people from Corwen to Denbigh and beyond can go back to the pub beer gardens and restaurant terraces is drawing ever nearer.

A range of pubs, bars and restaurants in Denbighshire are preparing to re-open their outdoor areas for April 26.

From then, hospitality venues will be allowed to serve people outdoors and there will be no need for customers to order a substantial meal with alcoholic drinks. However, customers must order, eat and drink while seated (table service).

We at the Denbighshire Free Press are just as keen to see our locals reopen to the public once more, so have looked around to see which pubs are ready to welcome back patrons.

Below are pubs which have confirmed they will be reopening on April 26.

This is by no means an exhaustive list, and all information is correct at time of writing. People are advised to check with the pub beforehand on the day as some are taking bookings, while others are serving customers on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Most have advised customers the outdoor availability will also be dependent on the weather.

Here are just some of the establishments in Corwen, Denbigh, Llangollen and Ruthin that are re-opening their outside areas (many of which have undergone transformations in lockdown) from April 26.

Corwen area

  • The Blue Lion (Cynwyd)

Denbigh area

The Dinorben Arms in Bodfari is is now taking bookings through its website for its upper terrace. Its lower terrace is also open for walk-ins.

Staff there say they 'really cannot wait to get going again'.

Others re-opening in the Denbigh area are:

  • Brookhouse Mill
  • Con Amici Italian Bar and Kitchen
  • The Hand Inn
  • The Hope and Anchor
  • Denbigh Rugby Club
  • The Golden Lion
  • The Plough

Llangollen area

  • The Sun Trevor

Ruthin area

One of the most exciting re-openings in Ruthin is at the Boar's Head - who are going to be cooking up a feast on a large outside grill.

Food will be asado style, local produce, fresh, with a variety of flavours available. The pub, taken over by Lois Meads during the Covid-19 pandemic, will only be offering food on Fridays, Saturdays and sundays to begin with.

Also re-opening its outdoor area in the Ruthin area are Park Place, the Leyland Arms in Llanelidan and the White Horse in Hendrerwydd.
