PUBS and cafes in North Wales have been thanking customers after a successful reopening.

Beer gardens and terraces areas across the region welcomed people back for food and drink as Wales reopened its outside hospitality on Monday.

Hundreds of people visited their favourite pubs and eateries to support local business and socialise.

With only a few minor hiccups, the region's pubs reported a safe, successful, and enjoyable day on social media.

They also took the opportunity to remind people what to expect when visiting as social distancing measures are still in place.

The Glasfryn near Mold posted: "Hi folks, Thank you to all that came to support us yesterday. It was fab seeing you all again. We are back again today from midday and while our marquee area is fully booked we do keep the rest of our garden tables (which is the majority of our outside tables) free for walk ins. So please do pop along to see us!

"Please note that our garden tables are weather dependant so please dress appropriately for barmy Welsh weather.󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 We now have QR code on all of our outside tables for your ease, so you can order when you please. We encourage their use, especially on the picnic benches but if you are struggling to use this system please just let a member of our team know. If you are in the marquee area we will be offering good old fashioned table service.

"And finally a gentle reminder, all customers over 18s must register, for test and trace purposes, either via the NHS app or via our customer registration QR code. We also kindly ask that any grown ups please wear a mask while on site unless they are sat down in their seat. Again thank you all for the support yesterday and we will see you again today."

Others have invested in heaters and blankets as it looks like British summertime might be coming to an end.

The Fat Boar in Wrexham posted: "Thank you to everyone who visited us on our first day back open. It was great to see so many familiar faces. We are looking really busy this week, with the weekend being fully booked already. If you would like to join us for food and drink then please message in advance and we will do our very best to for you in.

"Please don’t worry about the weather! We’ve got heaters, blankets and the gazebos arrived yesterday too!"

Pubs and cafes are now looking forward to an extended period of trade and to welcome customers back inside from May 17.
