SIX people have been arrested in connection with a county lines operation.

Police executed several warrants in the central area of North Wales, including Rhyl and Denbigh, recovering a cannabis grow, a dismantled cannabis grow and associated paraphernalia, and items used in the production of cannabis oil.

In the Merseyside area one warrant was conducted, recovering quantities of cash and amounts of what is suspected to be a class A drug.

NWP Denbighshire Coastal and Abergele posted on Facebook on May 6: "As a result, four men from North Wales and two from Merseyside were arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply class B drugs.

"Throughout this pre-planned operation, other agencies and organisations have been providing assistance, and as a partnership we are committed to safeguarding vulnerable members of our community."

Sgt Kevin Smith said: "These successes have been made possible by the excellent work undertaken by officers and staff from all areas and departments within the force, needed to arrest those involved in drug supply and money laundering.

"This accounts for only part of our work to tackle drug supply into North Wales, and we will continue to investigate and disrupt this kind of criminal activity and bring down Organised Crime Groups.

"I would like to thank the public for the information you continue to provide, in order that we can work to make north Wales the safest place for you and your families to live.

"We will continue to support the local community by carrying out these types of policing operations and extra patrols are being carried out to enhance community reassurance."

Anyone who has any information about criminal activity in their community can report it via www.northwales.police.uk through the live chat or by calling 101.
