A POPULAR womenswear shop reopened in a bigger location in Mold town centre this weekend.

Simone Ellis' shop Simmi has been selling designer clothing and accessories at several locations in Mold for 17 years.

Now, after being closed for almost six months due to lockdown, Simone and her team welcomed customers back to a new much larger shop in New Street.

Mold's business and regeneration officer Joanne Douglass and mayor Teresa Carberry attended Saturday's opening.

Simone said: "It was an amazing day, so so busy with regulars, and lots of new faces. It was just amazing to be back open and to see everybody and get back to doing what I love."

Simone says she is delighted to be in Mold where she has been encouraged by the number of new shops opening.

She said: "I've been in Mold for 17 years. I have been closed due to lockdown but due to the loyal support from customers, we've still been doing local deliveries click and collect, we've been able to move to a bigger, more prominent location.

"I think people come in for the personal service, we are well-established and Mold and get to know all the faces. I'll buy with people in mind, and they get the whole experience of an independent trader. We are trying to provide the service so people don't have to travel and can support their local town.

"Mold is great at the minute - it's really nice after 17 years to see our market town thriving. I'm sure all the shops will all say the support we have had from customers has been great. It's taking things back to the old days of buy local - where people know your name and you can get a cup of coffee while you shop."
