MORE than 200 pupils at Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St Asaph have been told to self-isolate until May 17.

A total of 213 pupils from year 10 and 34 additional pupils from other years at the school were asked to self-isolate after a confirmed Covid-19 case linked with the school.

A spokesperson for Denbighshire County Council said: "All parents and carers have been informed and the school and authority are working closely with Public Health Wales.

"Ysgol Glan Clwyd remains open to all other pupils and is working with Public Health Wales, the Local Authority and the NHS Wales Safeguarding Tracking Testing service to ensure all appropriate measures are in place to protect students, staff and the wider community."

Public Health Wales said on May 9 there have been 54 new cases of the virus across Wales. This takes the total number to 211,827.
