A DENBIGHSHIRE charity has been given a glowing audit report.

Citizens Advice Denbighshire (CAD), which works in partnership with Denbighshire County Council on a number of projects, scored top marks in all nine assessment categories, including governance, financial management and partnership working.

The Citizens Advice Performance and Quality Audit is conducted every three years and is based on performance and quality with the charity also being awarded the Advice Quality Standard for a further three years.

The report stated CAD, which provides free, confidential and impartial advice and campaigns on big issues affecting people's lives, produced ‘a strong performance against the standard supported by copious evidence’.

Gay Brooks, Chair of CAD, said: “I am delighted with the assessment results which reflect the hard work, knowledge and dedication of our staff and volunteers.

“It is important to us that when people contact us for help and advice that we are able to provide the best possible service for them and these accreditations are so valuable in this respect.”

On behalf of the Council, Citizens Advice Denbighshire provides free, confidential and impartial services to support the financial well-being and welfare of Denbighshire residents including support on benefits and tax credits, debt, energy and fuel, housing, employment, consumer issues and family and relationship issues.

Councillor Julian Thompson-Hill, the Council’s Lead Member for Finance, Performance and Strategic Assets, said: “Citizens Advice Denbighshire plays a key role in supporting our residents and this has been particularly important in the last 12 months.

“I would like to congratulate CAD on behalf of the Council for their excellent report and thank them for their hard work and dedication in supporting residents here in Denbighshire.”
