A WREXHAM salon has suffered a burglary in what is a "kick in the teeth" for its owner.

Studio 1 salon, on Chester Street, suffered a break in over night - with thieves making off with roughly £200, and causing about the same amount in damages to the property.

The thieves climbed up onto the roof of the salon, smashed the window - knocking slates off the roof in the process.

They entered the property through the attic and later re-appeared on CCTV letting themselves out the back door, taking the salon's till with them, as well as the money from the tip jar.

Kim Williams, owner of the salon, admits it's tough to stomach after the year she's had during the pandemic.

"It's been a hard year for all business owners, particularly salon owners with the length of time we've been closed.

"And we're still not at complete normality yet so for this to happen is a real kick in the teeth.

"Thankfully, the salon hasn't been trashed - but the damage to the window and slates will cost a few hundred pounds to fix."

Kim also lost a day's trading as a result of the break in - with crime scene investigation work taking place throughout most of the day.

Anyone with information relating to this incident is urged to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number 2066687.
