A HAIR salon has reopened in Ruthin after a major refurbishment needed due to damage caused by severe flooding.

Tommy’s Hair Company is delighted to welcome customers back after the devastation caused back in January.

Tommy’s Hair Company, situated on Clwyd Street in Ruthin, has been a well established salon for 16 years, with Dutch owners Tommy and Esther van Der Veken opening the salon in 2005.

The salon has built up a longstanding and loyal clientele and is known for its high standards of customer service.

In January, Tommy’s along with many other neighbouring businesses were left facing a trail of destruction following flash flooding throughout the town centre.

It left the salon under a large amount of water.

Once they had assessed the damage, Esther and Tommy took the decision to fully renovate the salon, taking the interior back to the bare brick and rebuilding what has been their pride and joy for 16 years.

The salon has gone under an extensive refurbishment and the team will reopened its doors on Tuesday - with the team bursting with excitement and ready to get back to the salon.

Esther said: “After a long lockdown and many salon closures following the global pandemic, we were devastated that our Ruthin salon was destroyed by the flash flooding – along with many other local businesses we had to start from the beginning and rebuild.

"We have worked so closely with our team of tradesman and insurance and cannot wait to show off and introduce everyone to our newly refurbished salon – it’s been a long time coming!”
