THE SPAR store in Bala re-opened with a brand new look last week.
On Friday, June 18, the market store on 39 High Street was re-launched with a renewed focus on fresh and local foods.
As well as this, the shop has taken on 12 new staff members as a result of the re-launch.
Bala SPAR features an extensive range of fresh produce and food from local suppliers, including Ellis Eggs, Edwards of Conwy, Blas y Fwyd, Village Bakery and Henllan Bakery.
A hot Daily Deli service counter is also available.
Store Manager Emma Atkinson commented: “We are really excited to be back trading in Bala and would like to welcome all customers to experience our new SPAR store.
“The new Daily Deli counter, along with all our new fresh and local products, will make the store a real destination for the local community.”
The Bala store also features County Bridge fresh meat, a SPAR Natural refill station for dried goods, a F’real self-serve shakes and smoothies bar, a Tango Ice Blast frozen slush machine and self-serve coffee.
With all staff members living within a mile of the shop, SPAR Bala prides itself on being a real community store. Since opening, it has raised more than £7,000 for local communities.
Over the last 18 months, the store has supported many charities and organisations with monetary and goods donations, including Meithrinfa Akroyds Creche, Awel y Coleg and Snowdon Food Bank.
The SPAR is also a proud community partner of Disability Sport Wales, who are committed to transforming lives through the power of sport.
SPAR Bala will be open from 7am to 11pm from Monday through to Saturday, and from 8am to 10.30pm on Sundays.
