PEOPLE are being warned to make alternative arrangements as Denbigh’s Minor Injury unit is closed today, Tuesday.

An alert was issued via social media from Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board this morning just before 9.20am.

It stated that the department, based out of Denbigh Community Hospital on Ruthin Road, will not be open again until Wednesday morning.

A reason was not made publicly available, but the Free Press has been told by a health board spokesman that the the closure is due to a staffing shortage.

The rest of the message adds that the unit will open as normal from 8am - 6pm on Wednesday, June 30.

What should I do instead?

The hospital advises that - if you do need medical help – there are alternative services you can make use of.

They direct patients towards Llandudno General Hospital as well as Holywell Community Hospital.

Both sites are open from 8am until 8pm.

A link provided by the health board also directs people to the range of services they offer, so people can make informed choices before they travel.
