A bilingual flag has been raised outside the County Hall in Ruthin to recognise their contribution

The flag was raised at the County Hall, Ruthin, this morning to recognise the contribution of those who have worked on the frontline during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Cllr Bobby Feeley, the Council’s Lead Member for Well-being and Independence, said: “As a Council we would like to thank all those who have been caring for, protecting and serving our communities during the coronavirus pandemic.

“They have been exceptional and deserve recognition for all their efforts, including the roll out of the vaccine which is helping protect so many people.

“I would also like to pay tribute to social care and frontline staff working for Denbighshire County Council who have gone above and beyond providing help and support to the most vulnerable in our community.”

Cllr Alan James, Chair of the Council, said: “I would like to pass on the thanks of the Council and all Denbighshire residents to NHS, social care and frontline staff for the work they do.

“It has been a very difficult period and the dedication of those working in frontline services has helped save lives, while critical workers have kept our shops open and those from the blue light services have kept our streets safe and essential services running.

“We are raising this bilingual flag as a way of showing our support to those who have protected us all during the pandemic.”
