THE MS for Clwyd West says he was 'pleased' to hear of the continuing success of an award winning family business in his constituency during a visit to them last week.
The Llaeth y Llan Welsh brand can be found in shops and supermarkets across Wales and elsewhere in the UK.
On Friday, Darren visited the Llannefydd based business to tour the factory and meet with staff.
Speaking afterwards he said: “Llaeth y Llan have been producing superb produce from their old farmhouse on the outskirts of Llannefydd since the 80s and it was great to pay them a visit on Friday and to hear of their continuing success.
“Prince Charles visited in 2017 and the business has gone from strength to strength since then, now employing 60 people and selling a wide range of yoghurt and kefir products to shops and supermarkets throughout Wales and in other parts of the UK. They even supply the Senedd with their tasty treats.
“I was very pleased to hear that Brexit has had a positive impact on the business as fewer imports of yoghurt and dairy products have been coming from overseas. Also the pandemic resulted in an explosion in orders from smaller retailers seeking new suppliers for their customers, which was great to hear.
“I wish them further success in the future and will continue enjoying their delicious produce both at home and when at the Senedd.”
