DENBIGHSHIRE-BORN footballer Harry Wilson has secured a permanent move to EFL Championship side Fulham.

Born and raised in Corwen, the 24-year-old has spent nearly 16 years with Liverpool Football Club, in between loan spells.

On Sunday, it was confirmed that Wilson had made the move to Craven Cottage for a fee believed to be in the region of £12m.

The Wales international’s switch to the Championship side sees him embark on a new chapter in his career, having joined the Reds at U9 level and progressed through the ranks at the Academy.

A versatile attacker, Wilson achieved a senior debut for his country aged 16 v Belgium in 2013, becoming Wales' youngest ever player in the process, and later captained Liverpool U23s.

His maiden first-team appearance for the Reds came as a substitute in the FA Cup tie with Plymouth Argyle in January 2017, before he enjoyed a series of productive loan spells to gain further experience.

Time with Hull City and then Derby County saw Wilson rack up 23 goals in the Championship, and he subsequently spent 2019-20 with AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Having returned to Liverpool, he played his second senior match under Jürgen Klopp with a start against Arsenal in the League Cup last October.

Wilson then departed on loan again with Cardiff City where he bagged seven more goals in the Championship.

After representing Wales at Euro 2020, and initially joining Liverpool’s Austria pre-season training camp, Wilson now leaves the club to seal a move to Fulham.

He is a former pupil of Llangollen's Ysgol Dinas Bran and often visits Corwen, last doing so just two weeks ago as he posed for pictures with members of Corwen FC.
