RUTHIN TOWN FC began their 21/22 JD Cymru North season with a 1-1 draw away at Penrhyncoch.
An entertaining encounter at Cae Baker saw both teams share the spoils as tier two football returned for the first time since early 2020.
There were some good chances for both sides early on, but the eventual breakthrough came 23mins in when some poor defending from the Roosters allowed Matthew Hill in to put Ruthin ahead.
In the second half, Penrhyn grew into the game a lot more and Ifan Burrell began to find chances falling his way.
The attacker went close with a header before being denied by a great last ditch tackle.
Penrhyn were on top though and got their reward on 70mins when Taylor Watts brought them level.
A real game of two halves between these two sides and a draw a fair result on the day.
Next up for Ruthin Town is another away match against Holywell Town on Tuesday evening (After DFP print deadline).
