THE Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally needs more volunteers to lend their support for the 2021 edition of the popular event.

As always, organisers of the rally are on the lookout for a small army of heroes to help run a safe and successful event.

A spokesperson said: "If you are able to assist in some way, whether it’s at the service park in Llandrillo College Rhos on Sea, the start finish podium in Llandudno or in the forest stages please get in touch.

"The best way is to register is on Rally Stage Team platform, please see link attached then select the Cambrian rally in the events section. Thank you, we look forward to welcoming you in Sunny October."

Taking place in October, the 66th Visit Conwy Cambrian Rally is expected to be the last round of the season of the Motorsport UK British Rally Championship, BTRDA Rally Series, Pirelli Welsh Rally Championship and the ANWCC Championship and is set in the challenging welsh forests.

These forests of North Wales are synonymous with rallying especially the Lombard RAC (now the WRGB) back in the late eighties, with legendary drivers such as Roger Clark, Colin McRae, and Richard Burns.

The Cambrian has been enjoyed by a number of top WRC drivers. In 2009 Mikko Hirvonen was the course car in his works WRC Ford Focus. In the same year Mads Ostberg took the overall win in a WRC Subaru. Mikko Hirvonen also won the Cambrian back in 2000, when he was just 20 years old, in his Subaru Impreza WRC .

Recently, a commitment to making the event nett carbon neutral by 2025 has been made by the organisers.

Through working closely with other parties involved in preserving the environment in Wales, they plan to promote good sustainability practice
