FOLLOWING several violent incidents around the Denbighshire and Conwy area in recent weeks, police have launched an operation to tackle violent crime.

Operation Blue Crafnant, which launched today (Friday, August 13), will see targeted patrols during the summer holiday in areas where serious violent incidents have recently been reported.

As part of the launch, police are encouraging you to report violent crime and to share any concerns in your area.

Inspector Jason Davies, of North Wales Police, said: “As part of Operation Blue Crafnant, people can expect to see a significant increase in police presence over the next few weeks around the Denbighshire and Conwy Coastal area.

“Officers will be conducting targeted patrols of key night time economy locations and the caravan park areas in a bid to advance our response, tackle violent crime and prevent any further serious incidents of violence.

“Our message to the public is one of reassurance. Violence will not be tolerated in our community and we will take every possible action to ensure the area remains a safe place to live and visit.”
