FIVE Denbigh Harriers recently impressed in the Llyn Brenig Trail race.

Cool conditions on Sunday, August 15 and a bit of fine rain meant for fast times by all considering the terrain.

There were some strong runs by Chris Baldwin (01:24:28, 3rd M60) and Bob Neale (01:23:30, 1st M70) with Bob pulling away up the hill approximately halfway for them to maintain their gap.

Adam McDonnell (01:07:09) ran in a pack of four which helped to eat the miles and finish strong.

Tony Wood (59:23) stuck to pace and was rewarded by hunting down 3rd position overall, finishing 4min behind 1st runner.

Whilst David Owen Jones (01:15:39) made a dash for the cakes at the end to be the first there.

Ellesmere Port RC 5k was held last Wednesday, August 18. This was a fast course on country lanes in good conditions.

Two Denbigh Harriers ran this race in excellent times. Paul Jones achieved a fantastic personal best of 23:07, with Emma Collins showing her consistently brilliant form finishing in 21:04 and 2nd V55.

Seven Denbigh Harriers also ran in the Llangollen Fell Race on Sunday.

There were 146 starters in the race and good running conditions resulted in Personal best times for all those who had run this race in the past.

First Harrier home was Tony Wood in 2:17:15, followed by David Baugh in 2:44:11 taking the 1stMV60 prize.

Mel Morris, Emma Collins and Victoria Whitehead were not far behind finishing 2:46:37, 2:50:58 and 3:01:18 respectively.

Peter Lester-Owen and Menai Baugh bought it home in 3:20:08 and 3:30:37 respectively, both managing to knock an amazing 14 minutes from last year’s finishing times with Menai taking the 1st FV60 prize.
